“Unless I see the marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand in his side, I will not believe it.” – JN 20:25

Have you ever felt like you want things to be different?  You’re not happy with the way your life has turned out?  Do you ever feel like other people seem to be making a great living, but you have to struggle through life from paycheck to paycheck?

I can totally relate on this note.  The other day I was having a conversation with one of my coaches.  During the conversation – around money – I was struggling with coming up with the money I need to move forward on a project I want to do.  As she was talking me off the wall and overcoming all of my objections,
I heard a voice in my head say, “Yeah, rite, show me how and I’ll do it.”

Have you ever heard that voice?  Well, on that day, the voice was followed up by the voice of Jesus when he responded to Thomas’ complaint above.

“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” – JN 20:29

Doubt & Fear – The voices in our head that run us and keep us from taking action on our dreams are so real!  Thomas didn’t believe what his buddies saw with their own eyes.  He needed to see it to believe it.

Shifting into the money thing ~ If you want more, you’ll have to Believe it Before you See it.  You’ve got to take control of the voices in your mind and in your life telling you all the reasons why you can’t and write a new script with all the reasons why you can!

1. Feed Your Dream - Find Supporting Evidence of Why You Can.  During a time when I faced bankruptcy several years ago, I beat myself up and thought the end was near. My wife brought me an article she saw with all the famous & highly successful people who filed bankruptcy just before they made it big.  I needed that during those times because I was also in the process of finishing my first book, Consider the Ant.
2. Believe Your Dream - “But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” – JAS 1:6 It is God who put the desire in your heart to excel, so go for it!  You are the Steward of that Dream, so have Faith and Be Excellent with it.  Believe only what serves your greater achievement.
3. Be Certain of What You Do Not See – “Now FAITH is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” – HEB 11:1 The      scripture goes on to talk about all the FAITHFUL men and women of the old testament who took action long before they could see any of their desires.  In many cases, the people died without ever seeing their desire fulfilled, yet they acted anyways!

Poor Thomas gets a bad rap for his doubt.  The fact of the matter is that Doubt is a real force in our lives.  He was no different than any of us.  The difference
is that we can change our minds and move forward to push through all of our doubts and fears.  It just takes a courage and unyielding faith that moves mountains!

You can do and accomplish anything you set out to do.  The Lord told us so –

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”  Mt 7:7-8
