During the years 1996-1998, I had a mentor who used to tell me to stop making excuses. I didn't understand, after all, I just wanted to explain what happened. He was my minister, my mentor, and my friend. The honest truth is that I didn't know I was making excuses. Why? I didn't know what they looked like. I was in my early 20's and the excuse had become a common practice in my everyday life.
